Honkai: Star Rail is scheduled to officially debut on April 26 for PC and mobile devices with PlayStation versions set to come at a later date. PC players will need to allocate 10.12 GB of storage space for the RPG while mobile players will need just over 7 GB of storage space. Honkai: Star Rail players on PC and mobile devices will be able to download the game ahead of time, ready to play as soon as it officially launches later this week. The game boasts a similar element system to other HoYoverse RPGs with elements directly affecting characters with different strengths and weaknesses. Star Rail sheds the action RPG combat of the developer's two previous games in favor of turn-based combat, featuring more strategic tactics in battle. Honkai: Star Railis set to feature several departures from its HoYoverse predecessors with one of its main gameplay elements differing significantly from Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd. Now, pre-installations have revealed the file size of the highly-anticipated RPG. The game has seen multiple closed beta tests since its initial reveal with HoYoverse confirming the game for an April launch last month. The Genshin Impact developer first announced the sci-fi RPG in late 2021 as a spin-off of one of the studio's flagship games, Honkai: Impact 3rd. Honkai: Star Rail has officially rolled out pre-installation ahead of its release, and fans can now get an idea of how big the HoYoverse space RPG will be.
